Love and Happy Valentines

Dear Everyone
So, what do you say on a day such as Valentines? Where, the mourning of singleness and broken hearts has become as big a part of Valentines, as the celebration of love. I think it's probably fair to say that no-one wants to be alone today, but so often we get carried away by the emotional current of society, we forget why it is that we want to be with someone. We forget that today is about love.
Today isn't about flowers or chocolates (or if you're a certain girl, cactuses for your boyfriend…). Nor is it about teddy bears, cards and lingerie. It's about realizing that the person you're with, today and right now, is the one who's captured your heart. It's realizing that you love your partner and that there isn't another word to describe how you feel. It's simple enough if you know what love means, except from experience, I don't think anyone actually knows what love is.
I think the problem lies in that we all have such different ideas with regards to love, very few of us actually sit down and think about how we see love. Love can be such a loaded word unless you actually figure out what it means to you. We're bombarded with the media's idea of love, of this perfect happy entity which makes the world go round and it's not our own idea of love. In the realities which we live in, Love is all the more difficult and thus all the more powerful than the love we see in movies. There aren't any rules and it can seem completely ridiculous or impossible or random or perhaps insane that love should work. But it does work, they just do, and it's what makes it so special when love happens.
I want to believe in love, I really do. Although some days, it can get so hard and I lose my strength to hold on. But it only takes a memory to warm the heart and I want to find love the way I see it because to me, Love is caring for someone else more than you care to admit, love is willing self-sacrificing, love is finding flaws with your partners and still loving them to bits, love is caring about someone else more than you do yourself, love is complete trust, love is misery you can't live without and most of all, love is what you're willing to give – which is why we should always be loving completely and wholly. Of course, there are a lot of other things to it, but I think right now, those are the things which matter to me the most.
Anyway, it's getting near 3am, so it's probably a good time to end off. I just want to wish you all, a very Happy Valentines. Whether you're single or taken, it doesn't matter, it's kinda like how we all celebrate Mother's Day, though none of us are Mommies (at least I should hope not...). I love you all very much and yea, hopefully we'll see each other soon.
Love is letting someone else see you, when you can't face yourself.
